The Glidetrack Shooter SD is an awesome bit of kit. It provides a truly portable solution for either dolly or shoulder mounted stabilisation for your HDSLR video camera. In short producing a really radical solution that is capable of delivering extremely cinematic results when used correctly. It’s taken me a little while to get round to using it properly as I didn’t end up using it as I had hoped on my summer filmmaking trip to the Pyrenees due to the weather and the additional weight. The Glidetrack Shooter SD is however extremely portable and functional. I have added a Manfrotto quick release plate to the system to enable easy quick release and interchange with other kit. It also means I can mount the camera for either shoulder mount operation or sideways dolly moves on a tripod by mounting the baseplate at 90 degrees. There are some great options for low mode shooting and I’m still very much looking forward to what I can do with it over the coming projects. I seriously recommend this piece of kit to any indie filmmaker shooting on HDSLR. At just under £200 it will prove to be a great investment if you’re looking for something versatile. Here it is rigged up with the LCDVF. Full video review to be posted when I’ve got my 7D back.
